Independent Verifications Services
Home Energy Rating System are standardized methods of rating a home’s energy rating efficiency. Based on the home’s plans, the Home Energy Rater uses an energy efficiency software package to perform an energy analysis of the home’s design. This analysis yields a projected, pre-construction HERS Index.
Mass Residential New Construction Program Verification
The Massachusetts Residential New Construction Program promotes the construction of energy efficient homes within the Program Administrator’s service territories throughout the state. The Low Rise Path provides incentives for energy-efficient new construction ranging from $350 – $7,000 per unit.

Using a Blower Door a device that consists of a fan, a removable panel, and gauges used to measure and locate air leaks. Blower doors create a measurable house pressure and airflow in order to evaluate a building’s air leakage.
Duct leakage Testing
The duct blower pressurizes the ducts while all the registers are blocked. Measuring the air flowing through the duct blowers fan gives an accurate measurement of duct air leakage.
Combustion Appliance Zone Testing (CAZ Testing)
The most common sources of combustion by-products in indoor air of residential buildings are unvented combustion space heaters, gas ranges, vented combustion space heaters, central heating systems. Unvented appliances and gas ranges release all their combustion by-products into the indoor air. Vented appliances may spill combustion by-products, temporarily or continuously while they are operating.
